Letter from John

I just got my first letter from John today. Actually it was 4 letters in the same envelope. He seems to be doing really well. HE MISSES THE FAMILY A LOT. He had a few funny comments about boot camp so far...

"Reception has been just like Disneyland, long lines and standing on your feet for two hours at a time. The only thing is you don't get to go on the ride."

"It has been HELL for the most part, however the mental part is easy, the games are dumb. They let us go to church, it's nice. Almost like being on a mission, only you're being trained to kill on the other days of the week."

"My schedule sucks up at 4:00 a.m. March for 1/2 a day, PT for 1/4, class room for 1/4, and in bed at 11:00p.m. Physical training is tough, the drill Sargent's delight in torture. We get smoked 2 or 3 times a day. I'm doing OK though."

For the next 7 weeks you can write him at the address below, after that he will be able to email. I am sure he would love hearing from home.

This is typical Catelynn. I found her playing with Emmalee's lip gloss, and when I asked her "What are you doing?" she simply replied "I PURPLE". The best part is I had just given her a bath.

memorial day

After having breakfast at my aunt and uncles house, where I discovered I rock at bowling on the Wii (not). We followed tradition and spent the afternoon @ John's grandma's house in Brigham City. It's was also the 12th anniversary of the day John gave me my engagement ring. It's sad to think that this is the last time we will spend Memorial day @ grandma's house. I had to get at least one picture of Emmalee and Catelynn on Grandma Great's swing.

Boy am I glad it's warming up. I came so close to 60 miles last week, that I really wanted to work hard to break 60 this week. After running in the freezing cold on Monday I thought there was no way I was going to make it to my goal . The week started out way too cold, but ended up really nice.

GO David Archuleta

My 3 year old announced last week that David Archuleta is her boyfriend. I have know idea where she comes up with this stuff. We were cheering on Brooke White every week, and when she wasn't there Emmalee said "If Brooke is home, then I want my boyfriend David Archuleta to win, GO David Archuleta!!!" LOL too funny that silly little girl.

Emmalee and Catelynn's birth mom had a new baby today. It was fun to get a chance to meet her and hold her.
